Black Poetry Theatre creates and presents original theatrical productions centered on or inspired by poetry, spoken word, and hip hop culture. Black Poetry Theatre seeks to expand the understanding of spoken word and foster a greater appreciation for the power of contemporary art by presenting it in theatrical settings, raising cultural awareness through the performing arts, and telling necessary stories from within our communities. We develop and produce original productions.
