I AM KOREAN AMERICA
Intersection Artist
Initially trained in classical music decades ago, Jinna Kim is a multidisciplinary immigrant artist & writer based in Charlotte, NC. In addition to being a 5-string violinist and violist, Jinna continues to perform, write, and produce short films as well as public artworks that highlight diverse perspectives while sneaking in educational and unique cultural content in delightful ways.
During the pandemic Jinna wrote, directed, and produced her first short documentary "Chinese Girl Wants Vote" featuring original music that became part of the Digital Public Library of America.
BOOM 2026 Performances
For the first time ever, multidisciplinary artist Jinna Kim will perform "Korean American Medley, an immigrant anthology"—a combination of original poetry, monologues, and music. This premiere is a delightfully unexpected combination of her brand new works combined with some favorites and lesser known pieces.
