Swati Kumar is a multidisciplinary artist and cultural leader originally from India, currently based in the United States. Her work centers on collaboration, community, and the expressive power of South Asian performance traditions. Drawing from her lived experience as an Asian woman and long-time arts practitioner, she is committed to creating work that amplifies underrepresented voices and fosters cross-cultural dialogue.
NachBaliye Dance Academy production brings to life a powerful and well-known episode from the epic Mahabharata through dynamic storytelling, expressive acting, and high-energy movement. The show weaves together freestyle choreography with classical, devotional, and Indian folk dances, creating a visually rich and emotionally resonant experience.
Featuring a cast of eight performers, the production celebrates community, culture, and timeless human themes of duty, choice, and transformation. Audiences can expect a compelling fusion of tradition and innovation that honors India’s artistic heritage while speaking to contemporary sensibilities.
