PEX Dance Company
Intersection Artist
PEX - Compañía de Danza Peruxpresión is dedicated to promoting the dances of Peru and Latin America. Founded and directed by Mauricio Salas and Ángela Castillo, this group has over 20 years of experience sharing Peruvian folklore worldwide. The pair recruits and trains young talent to perform the Peruvian cultural repertoire.
Each performance engages the audience, taking them on an imaginary journey to the land of the Incas, where they discover its colors, history, musical instruments, and dances. PEX aims to place Peru and its art within Charlotte's cultural consciousness, connect Latinos (by birth and by heart) through dance, and enrich and diversify the community.

Through energetic choreographies and traditional costumes, the show takes the audience on a journey through the coast, the Andes, and the Amazon rainforest. Each region reveals its unique identity, music, and storytelling, showcasing the diversity and richness of Peruvian culture. A celebration of movement, heritage, and joy—live and unforgettable.
